A letter to all the Senators in NY who voted “No” on the Marriage Equality Act today

Senator,

Because of your choice to vote “No” in today’s Marriage Equality Act voting, you will not get my New York vote in the future. I have too many friends, family members, and loved ones who are being treated like second-class citizens. My husband and I are able to enjoy full citizenship but not my friends and other family members? Your act today is a shameful one, and many of my New York friends from across the state are listening, seeing your actions, and will adjust their votes accordingly to reflect a new future of tolerance and legal freedom.

I hope one day some of your rights are taken away so that you may experience what hundreds of thousands of people are now feeling every day of their lives.

Ashamed of my state,

Sierra
