MAC Award Thanks

Here’s what was on my cheat sheet, which I was able to use on Tuesday, March 26th as I accepted my award. I did not get all these words out when I got to the podium, but this covers the bases. I was excited to thank people, take a breath, and then sing “Come On-A My House” on the Sony Hall stage with Bill Zeffiro, Matt Sharfglass, and Don Kelly on drums. Thank you’s go to:

The MAC Community

Kenny Bell at the Laurie Beechman
Tanya Moberly and Sidney Myer at Don’t Tell Mama

My Running Men:
Bill Zeffiro, Musical Director
James Beaman, Director
Rex Benincasa, Drums
Matt Scharfglass, Bass

Everyone who gave of their time, money or talents towards this project, including
Stephen Hanks, Steward Noack, Brian Allan Hobbs, amongst my friends and family.

My husband Pete, who listened to all my self doubts and only reflected love back to me.

Leanne, Emily, Susan and Deborah – I was fully prepared for one of you to be up here. Fierce, gorgeous, talented women who all now know (like me) how difficult it is to put yourself out there.

I’ll quote a lyric I sang in my show, from Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park with George” that I think encapsulates the spirit of Cabaret and the MAC community:

“Anything you do, let it come from you. Then it will be new. Give us more to see.”

Thank you.
